About Me, My First Blog Post!

Hello, my name is Aaron Loguercio, and this is my first ever blog post! I plan on blogging about my writing as well as various other subjects I find interesting such as drawing, TV show critique, and other topics I might not be considering as of now. I’m currently a novice writer that has yet to make a large piece of work from beginning to end such a book, but I do have some ideas about writing that I just need to execute. I want to start off with a simple question that any writer may have asked themselves, but I want to see if anyone has a good answer to it. What does it mean to be original? Think about it, does being inspired by something not count as “original” in writing? I personally think it does, but mainly because being TRULY original does not seem possible if that makes sense. The very first stories ever written were inspired by life events around people in their environment, from the natural world to their interactions with others. This is why I feel the idea of something being completely original is a little shaky. With that said, it’s understandable why some people might get upset when a story does something way too similar to another story. What do you think? Comment below your thoughts or questions.
